Our Vineyard
Volpert Vineyard is a five-acre jewel that lies at the end of Taylor Lane, in the coastal village of Occidental, with a view of Bodega Bay and the Pacific Ocean at the far western edge of the West Sonoma Coast AVA. With an elevation of 1,000 feet, cool microclimate, and hillside protection against the elements, our location produces wines with low yields, high intensity, and deep mineralogy. In these far western reaches of the Sonoma Coast, the soils are a fine sandy loam referred to locally as Goldridge.
Our vines are farmed organically by our meticulous and talented vineyard manager, Greg Adams, a Sonoma legend. Greg planted our vineyard in 2015, and it now comprises 2.37 acres of Chardonnay (Mt. Eden Clone) and 3.37 acres of Pinot Noir split between the rare Jackson clone and the Calera Clone
